Studio Performance (Level 1) is intended for students in grades 5-8. 4th graders will be considered on a case by case basis. Level 1 Students will meet on Wednesday evenings from 6-7pm.
Students will be given the opportunity to prepare and present an individual monologue or solo song (in the genre of musical theatre) and have personalized feedback while the class observes and offers input. They will also be given the opportunity to prepare partner or group scenes assigned and led by the instructor. Format will remain fluid depending on how many individual pieces are ready for performance. The goal of the class is to have positive feedback and structured critique for improving as performers and gaining confidence on stage. Students will learn to be flexible, try new techniques and take direction in a safe and supportive environment led by experienced performers and instructors. Classes are split into month long sessions, with the September’s Session 1 beginning 9/14, and October’s Session 2 beginning 10/5. The cost for Session 1 is $35, Session 2 is $45. Registration is open now.
