Join Todd Tracy and Robert Ward of the Cascade Theatre for “A Discussion of Sound in the Theatre,” with explanations and demonstrations of sound design for the stage. This workshop will briefly cover the physics of sound and how it is converted and carried to the audience. There will be demonstrations and explanations of basic components and tools of sound reinforcement systems, including microphones, mixing consoles, amplifiers, and speakers. They will also demonstrate and discuss more advanced tools like equalizers, compressors, gates, and sound effects processors.
This event is free to attend, but please pre-register for purposes of setting up the space. Workshop will be held at the Cascade Theatre from 10:00-2:00 with breaks. The Cascade Theatre is located at 1731 Market St. Redding, CA.
