In this class we will explore the foundations and techniques to create with oil pastels. We will use layering, blending, and scraping. We will develop landscapes and flowers using the oil pastels to create rich textures and colors. Then, we will explore acrylic paint using brush techniques and blending. We will also incorporate color theory and the basics of shading and highlights. We will then paint flowers and landscapes using acrylic paints. This class is from beginner to intermediate. Ages 16+. This class is presented in a four day series, with class being held from 1:30-4:30 on July 17, 18, 19, and 20. Class fee for the entire series is $95, or $35 for a single session. About the instructor, Leaf Argotti: I've been using acrylic and pastels for over twenty years. I've been teaching step by step paint classes since 2015. I am skilled and knowledgeable and I'm easy to engage with. I've displayed my artwork in multiple galleries. I've also painted several murals with require a lot of preparation and time management. I love challenging myself with new projects to increase my artistic skills so that I may teach my students in turn.
